New season HEAD is just weeks away from stores near you but you can satisfy your need for HEAD with the latest issue of New Zealand Skier Magazine. The mag hits shelves on Monday 13 May and features the 2013 Gear Guide that is packed with HEAD products. 

This will be their biggest issue ever and features a double cover, with Sam Smoothy getting buried in Austrian powder and Beau-James Wells slaying a night time rail in Frisco, Colorado.

Leogang, Austria - 30 January 2013 – It has been a busy few weeks for the New Zealand Ski Racing team with races in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and Slovenija. Adam Barwood (Queenstown, pictured on left) is enjoying the packed schedule and has responded with some career best results.

Heavy fog made for tough race conditions in Stari vrh, Slovenija on 23rd January; this didn’t deter Barwood, however, and he managed a personal best result in the slalom race, scoring 32.78 points.

Sam Lee has arrived in Revelstoke for another northern winter. He was lucky enough to arrive in the middle of a storm that dropped crazy amounts of pow; no rest for the wicked.

After recently adding Canadian, Kaya Turski, Norwegian, Torgrim Vole, Austrian, Jochen Mesle, and many others to the diverse and growing team at HEAD, PK Hunder has tested out the new products and joined the family.

The ski world has seen few athletes whom within the tender age of 14 start competing at the highest level. PK is one who has competed at numerous X-Games, appeared in many films from Field Productions to MSP, and all the while done it with a smile on his face.

This year's freeride ski and snowboarding event, the Mt Ruapehu Xtreme, attracted a number of high profile international skiers but HEAD sponsored athlete, Sam Lee, fended them off to take the top spot in the men's freeski category. Austrians Fabian Lentsch and Raphael Webhofer came second and third respectively.

The HEAD Backdoor Waikato Secondary Schools Ski and Board Championship will see the best young skiers and boarders from the Waikato taking to the slopes of Turoa of Friday 17 July. 

This all-new event will see Year 9 – 13 Waikato school students compete in two events. The first event, the Giant Slalom, is the championship event. The fastest boys and girls in the area will be determined by combining two timed runs of the Giant Slalom course.
